Terms of Service 

Effective 2026

1. Nature of Services
   Shamah | शम: is a private, non-clinical counselling and wellness practice. Services offered do not include medical, psychiatric, diagnostic, psychometric, or prescriptive treatment of any kind. The work is limited to talk therapy and integrative approaches drawn from Western counselling psychology and Indic/Buddhist psychological frameworks, including reflective inquiry, contemplative practices, mindful awareness, meditation, breathwork, and yoga-informed techniques. These services are not a substitute for clinical or emergency mental health care.

2. Mode of Delivery
   All sessions are conducted online unless otherwise agreed in writing. Sessions are typically held via Google Meet. If a client is unable to access Google Meet, an alternative platform may be requested in advance and accommodated where possible.

3. Eligibility & Intake
   Completion of the Client Intake Form is mandatory. Sessions cannot be confirmed or conducted unless all required forms are completed accurately. Clients are responsible for ensuring that they are legally permitted to access non-clinical counselling or wellness services in their jurisdiction.

4. Professional Boundaries
   Engagement with the therapist outside of sessions is limited to scheduling and administrative communication only. Socialising or personal engagement outside sessions is not encouraged and is not ethically permitted.

5. Confidentiality & Privacy
   All sessions are confidential and are not recorded. Information shared during sessions is not disclosed or shared with third parties. Shamah | शम: does not trade, sell, or share personal, financial, or health-related data with collaborators or external entities.

6. Appointments & Punctuality
   All appointments are non-transferable. Sessions begin and end on time. Late arrival does not extend the session duration, as delays impact other clients.

7. Subscription Sessions (2026)
   Subscription sessions are commitment-based, typically conducted weekly on weekdays. All subscription sessions must be scheduled within 90 days of booking and completed before 31 December 2026, after which unused sessions expire. Subscription availability must be confirmed by email before booking.

8. Single/ One-Off / Follow-up / Intake Sessions (2026)
   Regular single sessions, one-off, follow-up or intake sessions are subject to availability.

9. Jurisdiction
   All services, disputes, and agreements are governed by Indian law. Legal jurisdiction lies exclusively with courts in India.

10. Client Undertaking
    By booking a session, the client confirms that they engage in these services voluntarily, understand the non-clinical nature of the work, accept responsibility for how insights and practices are applied, and agree to these Terms of Service without reservation.
